Safety is important, especially when people feel it is being compromised. In light of recent events, it is crucial that we are safe and those around us are safe. As an employer, you might not have control of situations outside of the workplace, but your employees should be well-protected inside the organization.
The Top 10 OSHA Violations for 2014
OSHA recently released the preliminary top 10 most frequently cited workplace safety violations for fiscal year 2014. For the fourth year in a row Fall Protection is the most frequently cited violation.

OSHA publishes this list so employers are able to take action and fix recognized hazards in these and other standards. For an industrial launderer like the Chicago uniform company we deal with many of these on a daily basis. Therefore, we strive to be compliant and uphold OSHA standards with safety trainings throughout the year, safety audits, updating certificates and so forth. In our arsenal the mat rental company uses the National Safety Council (NSC) for a variety of educational resources on safety.
The Chicago Mat Company Uses the NSC as a Resource for Safety Training Materials
The NSC is a “nonprofit organization with the mission to save lives by preventing injuries and deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the road through leaderships, research, education and advocacy.” They are data driven and rely on research to inform best practice solutions to safety issues. The Chicago mat company has been a member for over 30 years receiving a number of safety related training materials like Lockout/Tagout, Safe Lifting, First Aid, Commercial Driver Defensive Driving and other workplace safety tools.
Consider using the NSC for countless benefits, including being OSHA compliant. NSC memberships can help you and your organization to reduce injuries, decrease days away from work, promote a culture of safety, improve insurance rates, achieve higher productivity and educate employees.
