We are excited to be heading to the Big Easy this week for the Clean Show at the Morial Convention Center. Billed as “the main event for the laundering, dry cleaning and textile services industry,” Clean 2019 provides an opportunity to learn about the latest products and trends in our industry.
At Roscoe, we’re committed to keeping up with state-of-the-art practices in all aspects of our business, with a particular focus on customer service, environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.
The event, which runs June 19-23, will include opportunities for us to learn about advances in processes for using less water, among other environmentally focused practices.
“We’re interested in the latest technology around water re-use and filtration systems to reuse water and enhance sustainability,” says Roscoe President Jim Buik. As chairman of the industry trade organization, the Textile Rental Service Association (TRSA), Buik has made promoting good environmental practices throughout the industry a focus of his term.
Our Sustainability Commitment
Sustainability has long been part of the Roscoe business plan. In 1975 Roscoe introduced the first wastewater treatment system in the industry. And over the last 44 years our commitment hasn’t wavered:
- We continue to be a leader in the laundry industry with wastewater treatment, energy conservation, waste reduction and recycling programs.
- We are TRSA “Clean Green” certified. This is a certification awarded by the Textile Rental Service Association to laundries that adhere to strict standards for eco-friendly processes, including the use of environmentally-friendly detergents, efficiency in water use and treatment, fuel-efficient delivery routes, proper waste disposal and recycling programs.
- We have twice won the TRSA Clean Green Sustainability Award. This award honors businesses for their novel approaches to increase sustainability, conserve natural resources and reduce the operation’s overall environmental impact.
- We are also a two-time winner of the Illinois Sustainability Award. We were recognized for our innovative sustainable technologies, as well as our ongoing commitment to environmental, social and economic health.
Clean Show 2019 to Showcase Industry
The Clean Show also provides educational opportunities on topics ranging from customer service to technologies and laundering processes. A TRSA session scheduled for Saturday will provide an overview of TRSA certification programs.
Buik is also looking forward to seeing demonstrations of the latest equipment, as well as the opportunity to network with his peers in the industry.
“We’re never satisfied with staying at the same level,” Buik says. “As new technologies and processes become available, we want to take advantage of them.”
