True or false: Home washing consumes less water and energy as opposed to outsourcing this function to a large-scale textile services company?
You may be surprised to learn that this is false. Industrial launderers have experience, longevity, and responsibility in reducing their environmental impact.
An initiative launched in 2012, by TRSA (Textile Rental Services Association), called Clean Green certification program recognizes laundry facilities for “achieving efficiencies in water and energy conservation and adopting best management practices for reusing, reclaiming and recycling resources.” This should give business owners some peace of mind that their uniforms, linens, floor mats, towels and other reusable textiles procured from Clean Green certified companies are laundered in an environmentally friendly manner, thus, reducing their business’ overall environmental impact.
How are laundry facilities, such as Roscoe, able to wash textiles so efficiently and effectively? By using the highest-spaced, largest-capacity equipment and facilities large enough to deploy the latest technologies for removing pollutants, recovering heat, reusing rinse water and other resource-saving functions. Capabilities just not feasible by home-washing.
It is clear that a laundry facility, especially a Clean Green certified one, is the sustainable and conscientious option to fulfill a business’ laundering needs. Roscoe became Clean Green certified in 2012, in addition to being ISO and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) compliant, and consistently strives to find new ways to reduce its overall environmental impact.
