On May 8, 2018, the Lawndale Business Renaissance Association (LBRA) and the Business Executives Association (BEA) are co-hosting a networking breakfast and social media panel discussion. All businesses in the Chicagoland area that would like to create new business-to-business relationships with LBRA, BEA members, and other business leaders are welcome to attend. There is no cost to attend.
The event will be held at the Garden City Business Center in Chicago at 3333 W. Harrison, formerly the Garden City Laundry and second plant of Roscoe Company. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. and will adjourn at 9:30 a.m. with an optional tour of Roscoe to follow. The networking and complimentary breakfast will run from 7:30-8:15am and will be followed by a panel discussion entitled “Growing Your Business through Social Media.”
Social media panel members include:
- Rob McMillan: Founder of Dearborn Denim, a a made-to-measure, direct-to-consumer denim company
- Hagen Kern: Owner of Junk King Chicago, a junk removal and hauling service
- Kim Deason: General Manager of More Cupcakes, making cupcakes from the finest ingredients that the world has to offer

Roscoe President Jim Buik is past Chairman of the Board for LBRA, which is proud to help sponsor this event. The LBRA, which has expanded to include Little Village in addition to Lawndale, was created to revitalize, grow and attract new businesses to the area with a mix of networking, problem solving and facilitating of local, state and federal programs and incentives. More than 70 companies are members of the association, which has assisted in efforts resulting in over $14 million in area economic impact since 2014 – including more than $5 million in 2017.
