Roscoe has many different types of work uniform rental and floor mat programs that can be customized to each individual customer and can be customized further accordingly to unique characteristics of different departments and functions they perform.
As an example of this flexibility, Roscoe recently installed uniforms and floor mats to a new customer that produces food products. This facility does require that its work uniform rental supplier follow strict HACCP procedures (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points), which Roscoe does, as they are a Safe Quality Food (SQF) certified company.
Food Processing Uniform Setup
All garments issued to this customer are food processing style having metal clasp closures versus plastic buttons and no top, outside pockets. Here is how we set up different areas for this new customer located on the South Side of Chicago.
Production Employees Issued Pants & Food Processing Shirts
These employees have a company and name emblem affixed to their shirts and are on programs where the company is not charged for emblem and prep fees when hiring new employees and they don’t have to pay for garments that are damaged when employees leave service. This program made sense for this group who has fairly high turnover, the garments are individually assigned to employees and the work environment is conducive to causing damage to the uniforms.
Maintenance Employees Receive 100% Cotton Garments
Because maintenance department employees weld from time to time. Those who install or repair electrical equipment were issued flame resistant garments to help protect from potential electrical arcs and fires. They were issued 100% cotton garments that don’t melt onto skin when hit with welding sparks. This department was also put on programs that eliminate start up and damage charges as 100% cotton fabric wears more quickly than blended fabrics and these guys can be really tough on garments.
Temporary Labor Wears Food Processing Frocks with Direct Embroidery
These employees do not have garments personally assigned to them, but rather wear food processing frocks that are provided by size. These garments only have a company emblem affixed, but no name emblem as garments are not assigned to any individual. Where full time employees are issued a Roscoe locker and individual key, these temp coats are stored by size in a closed container with access by all temp employees. With this group, it only made sense to have the garment damage protection program due to staining of garments during the manufacturing process
Visitor Coats Provided for Tours & Inspections
These frocks were provided in sizes most commonly used and have a company emblem, as well as a “visitor” name emblem affixed. They are individually wrapped in plastic for storage purposes and kept on a portable rail for easy access and mobility. Seeing as how these garments aren’t worn every day, are not assigned to any one individual and are not exposed to heavy use or staining conditions, we recommended that the customer not be on any programs that cover charges for emblems, size changes or damaged garments… it just didn’t make sense for these garments.
Management Employees Receive Frocks
These work uniforms have their company logo and individual’s name in direct embroidery. For this group of employees, we set them up on programs that eliminate direct embroidery fees and ensures that brand new garments will always be issued to new hires and for garment replacements and size changes.
Work Uniform Customization
As illustrated with this new customer, Roscoe can customize programs that best fit the exacting needs of employees with different job functions and work environments. When recommending programs, we also consider if garments are being assigned to individuals or issued in bulk sizes like this company’s temp staff and visitor’s coats. We also consider risks associated with particular jobs, such as welding, arc flash and traffic exposure as it pertains to high visibility work uniforms.
Floor Mat Recommendations
We also did a walk-through of this customer’s facility and recommended floor mats appropriate for the application:
- We placed all rubber scraper mats on the outside of entrances to keep the dirt outside where it belongs
- On the inside of entrances with heavy traffic, we placed super bristle mats that have a carpeted pile with stiff bristles; this aggressive mat stops 35% more dirt than a traditional carpeted mat product
- Inside the main entrance at the reception desk, we placed a custom image logo mat, which proudly displays this customer’s name and logo
- On the inside of the building, we placed carpeted image mats with rounded corner that are less of a trip hazard than traditional square corner mats
